Abstract

It starts from the concern that the possible influence of shyness on academic performance produces. We want to know if there is a relationship between these two variables to give a quick solution from school. For this reason, a study is made, base on the theoretical framework, to 70 children of the CEIP Santo Domingo de Silos (Bormujos), to their six teachers who teach them and to the families of each of them to know who have a shy profile and if this influences the academic activity. To this is added our immersion in the school for a month, in which we take into account the observation and collect a diary of everything we consider most relevant. In this way it is shown that there is a certain relationship, because the students are left with doubts without solving fundamental of the syllabus because of the anxiety that prevents them from asking a question in the classroom and this same one causes them some block in questions or oral exams, which harms their grades
