Abstract

In this paper we analyze the presence of the death that surrounds the infantile personages in two movies separated by the historical context and the geographical points, as there are Germany year zero (based on the city of Berlin after the 2nd World war) and Pan’s Labyrinth (based on Spain during the Franco period). Separation, which also is determined by the esthetic styles of both directors: on the one hand, the Italian neorealism, which it has like father to Roberto Rossellini and on the other hand the fantasy of Guillermo del Toro. Although, both are joined by the misfortune, the call of the conscience like answer a problem, and ultimately, the death, as a result of the hate and intolerances born from the extremist ideologies.
