Abstract

It is very important to mention that the entrepreneur’s role is a key factor within the global economic gear; and due to this fact, its study and the comprehension of what makes the entrepreneur different from the rest of the people is fundamental. As a matter of fact, some of them may become high-impact entrepreneurs. The main purpose of this work is to study the role played by eight fundamental entrepreneurial skills (recognition of opportunities, persuasion, creativity, resilience, leadership, mobilization of resources, vision/proactivity and ambition/growth capacity) on the perception of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Our aim is to confirm that a higher level of each one of the skills mentioned above, is related to a higher level of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. In order to make this study, the measurement standards were taken out from the project: “ELITE, Estudio Longitudinal Sobre El Proceso de Nacimiento de Emprendedores de Alto Impacto" (Liñán y Fernández, 2016) for each variable analyzed in this study. Likewise, the sample used for this study comes from the same source. A total of2.341 adults with different degrees of involvement in entrepreneurship were interviewed (ranging from those who have not thought about the idea, to thosehaving several years of experience as actual entrepreneurs). The empirical study consisted in the realization of several factor analyses which have helped to confirm the uni-dimensionality of the measuring scales. Afterwards, the lineal regression analysis confirmed the proposed hypothesis. That is, the results obtained confirm the positive influence of the entrepreneurial skills on self-efficacy.
