Abstract

El alcance de este trabajo es realizar el diseño de la ingeniería básica de una planta de producción de óxido de etileno vía oxidación catalítica de etileno. La capacidad de dicha planta es de 140.000 t/año. En el mismo, se realiza una introducción a las características principales del óxido de etileno, su mercado, y las principales vías de producción existentes. Una vez hecho este análisis, la vía que se escoge es la oxidación catalítica de etileno con oxígeno puro. Una vez realizada esta elección, se desarrolla un diagrama de flujo de toda la planta, y se justifican las condiciones de operación en cada parte de la misma. También, se realiza el diseño de la mayoría de equipos que componen el diagrama de flujo. Por último, se realiza un análisis del coste de inversión de la planta, llegando a la estimación del coste de inversión inicial, que es de 46.034.345 €.

The scope of this work is to carry out the basic engineering design of an ethylene oxide production plant via catalytic oxidation of ethylene. The capacity of this plant is 140.000 t / year. First at all, an introduction is made to the main characteristics of ethylene oxide, its market, and the main existing production routes. Once this analysis is done, the route chosen is the catalytic oxidation of ethylene with pure oxygen. Once this choice is made, a flow diagram of the entire plant is developed, and the operating conditions in each part of it are justified. Also, the design of most of the equipment that make up the flow chart is carried out. Finally, an analysis of the investment cost of the plant is carried out, arriving at the estimate of the initial investment cost, which is 46.034.345 €.
