La recesión gingival es uno de los defectos mucogingivales más frecuentes en la población general. Es un problema común y significativo en los pacientes, el cual aumenta con la edad, repercute negativamente en la estética y afecta a la calidad de vida de estos pacientes. Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica, utilizando la base de datos de PubMed, de las técnicas que diferentes autores han propuesto destinadas al tratamiento de las recesiones gingivales localizadas. El fin es determinar la eficacia de los procedimientos utilizados para la cobertura de la raíz en defectos de recesión única y evaluar los resultados clínicos y estéticos.
Gingival recession is one of the most frequent mucogingival defects in the general population. It is a common and significant problem in patients, which increases with age, negatively affects aesthetics and affects the quality of life of these patients. A bibliographic review is made using the PubMed database, of the techniques that different authors have proposed for the treatment of localized gingival recessions. The purpose is to determine the efficacy of the procedures used for root coverage in single recession defects and to evaluate the clinical and aesthetic results.
