Abstract

‘El proyecto de un Centro de Recepción de Visitantes es una necesidad largamente demandada para un recurso patrimonial de la importancia de Itálica. Se propone como parcela de trabajo el límite meridional del yacimiento en contacto con Santiponce. El alumno puede proponer otras ubicaciones si las justifica convenientemente. El programa de usos se organiza en: área de acogida y servicios públicos (tienda y cafetería), 200 m2; área de formación y difusión, 350 m2; área expositiva, 350 m2 y área técnica y de personal, 140 m2. La superficie construida rondará los1.500 m2.’Mediante la propuesta de intervención se tratará pues de reintegrar el conjunto arqueológico, dándole continuidad sobre la ciudad habitada con la que convive, como respuesta que busca la conservación y difusión de la primera y la dinamización de la segunda. Se propone la recuperación de la actual e histórica entrada a Itálica, redibujando los recorridos de visita con el fin de acabar con la visión segregada del conjunto nova-vetus urbs y permitir el entendimiento la ciudad como una unidad; y su potenciación y difusión mediante el proyecto para un centro de recepción de visitantes que funcionará como anticipo de una joya por descubrir de nuestro patrimonio.
