Abstract

Tras referir en la introduccion los motivos que han justificado el trabajo, se realiza una revision de la anatomia y fisiologia colorectal y del intestino delgado en el hombre y en el perro, haciendo realce en los mecanismos y factores de la continencia rectoanal. Seguidamente se resumen las indicaciones terapeuticas de la colitis ulcerosa y poliposis familiar del colon y se exponen las etapas por las que han pasado las mismas. Se describen detalladamente los distintos tipos de reservorios ileales, utilizados para complementar las anastomosis ileo-anales, tras la extirpacion del colon y recto. En el planteamiento del problema se indica la necesidad de mejorar la funcion de los reservorios ileales, con el fin de disminuir los porcentajes de resultados mediocres o malos, fundamentalmente debidos a incontinencia fecal o frecuencia deposicional elevada. En el capitulo de material y metodo se describe la experiencia realizada que consistio en comparar la evolucion seguida por tres grupos de animales (perros mestizos) a los que se les habia practicado, respectivamente: grupo a: colectomia total, mucosectomia rectal y anastomosis ileo-anal. Grupo b: colectomia total, mucosectomia rectal, reservorio ileal y anastomosis reservorio-anal. Grupo c: colectomia total, mucosectomia rectal, reservorio ileal, anastomosis reservorio-anal y valvula ileal suprareservorial. Se incluyo un grupo testigo (grupo t) para comparacion de distintos parametros evolutivos, entre los que destacan: evolucion del peso corporal inicial, lesiones perianales por escurrimiento fecal, tono esfinteriano, calibre de la anastomosis ileo-anal, evolucion del estado general del animal y comportamiento del nivel de proteina total serica.
