Desde el nacimiento de la fotografía se han producido gigantescos cambios en esta técnica se han ido obteniendo diversas utilidades como la utilidad artística y la de documento. Esta última ha dado lugar a la fotografía periodística o documental. Paralelamente se han ido desarrollando formatos en los que reproducirla, entre los que se incluye el utilizado en el presente trabajo: el fotolibro. Se han tomado fotografías urbanas con motivo de documentar la comparativa de Ayamonte entre los siglos XX y XXI. Para la realización de la comparativa se han escogido fotografías antiguas de los diferentes barrios de Ayamonte y se han reproducido imitando el encuadre de estas con fotografías tomadas actualmente. Posteriormente, se ha divido al pueblo en barrios para poder poder profundizar los cambios en cada uno de ellos. Ayamonte es hoy día un valorado destino turístico que tiene una historia humilde y marinera condicionada por su situación geográfica: se encuentra a orillas de la desembocadura del río Guadiana y es frontera directa con Portugal.

Since the photography exists, there have been lots of changes about this particular technique, and it has been adding new utilities such as artistic one and document one. The last one has produced the documentary photo and the journalistic photo. At the same time, many formats are developing to reproduce it, like the photobook, which uses in this work. Urban photographies have done the photobook to keep record about the changes in Ayamonte during the XX and XXI centuries. For comparison both centuries, old photographies of each neighborhood of the town (to focus on the comparative) have selected, and later new photographs have been taken in the same place and with the same photographic framing as the old ones. Nowadays this town not only is a beautiful tourist destination but also has an impressive humble and sailor’s history mostly conditioned by the geographic situation: it is near the Guadiana’s river mouth and in front of Portugal.
