Análisis de Ciclos de Rankine Orgánicos

Abstract

In recent years, generating energy from waste heat has become a key element in increasing efficiency in many industries. With limited supplies of fossil fuels and growing concerns about the greenhouse effect, research is emerging to guide the current energy system towards a more sustainable path. One of the ways to harness the heat that is released into the environment is by using Rankine organic cycles, as described in the following sections, a technique that can be applied to the energy of medium and low temperature streams (representing more than 50% of the total waste heat in process plants) Many studies show that, depending on the temperatures of the heat sources, optimum efficiency is achieved with specific organic working fluids operating at a given pressure in the boiler. Because of the multitude of organic fluids that can be found in the industry, these ORC systems have great applicability and are currently having a special impact.
