Abstract

Los/as pioneros/as de los estudios de moda han constatado, desde siempre y sin precedentes, la relevancia del fenómeno efímero de la moda para la comprensión de los procesos sociales profundos (Blumer, 1969; Lipovetsky,1994), en relación con la clase, el género, el gusto y la diferencia cultural. Ahora que los estudios de moda alcanzan un enfoque totalmente legítimo como objetos de investigación académica y que su valor como plataforma para interrogar a las sociedades pasadas y presentes ya no necesita ser demostrado (Mora, Rocamora y Volontè, 2014:6), este campo de estudio no ha perdido el dinamismo propio de quienes investigan los límites de lo sistemátizado y legitimado por la sociedad. El dinamismo, que se traduce en la actualización continua del objeto de estudio, junto a un enfoque interdisciplinar en crecimiento, son el resultado de al menos tres coordenadas teóricas que caracterizan a la moda: un ámbito y expresión de cambio social (Svendsen, 2006); una forma de comunicación (D'Aloia, Baronian y Pedroni, 2017) y una industria (cultural) indudablemente ligada a los procesos de consumo (Pedroni, 2013; Mora, 2009).
