Abstract

Dyslexia is a learning disorder of neurobiological origin which especially affects people’s reading and writing skills. Dyslexic people are characterised by their difficulties on decoding the graphemes into morphemes. In most cases, these difficulties are accompanied by behavioural and emotional problems. 80% of the people who are diagnosed with learning disorders are dyslexic. That is the reason why it is so important to know about this disorder in all areas of society, especially in students’ classrooms. The teacher himself and his performance in the classroom are two of the most important supportive factors so that dyslexic kids and adolescents can continue advancing on their student development. The treatment for dyslexia in the classroom has advanced over the past decades, but it is still not effective enough, which means that there are some unsolved problems. Some studies have shown that the main cause for such problems is the poor training of some teachers in this regard.
