Abstract

Society is moving towards a system that demands more and more data. A greater amount of data requires sending the information in a very limited spectrum and with increasingly complex signals. The problem with complex systems is that they require high linearity. This linearity is not usually accompanied by good efficiency, so in this project, we are going to raise the problems of poor efficiency in telecommunication systems and we are going to address some possible solutions to try to improve it. We will focus on power amplifiers, since most of them are the fundamental piece to obtain the best performance in mobile and wireless telecommunications systems. In this document we use a commercial power media amplifier from a prestigious company called Wolfspeed. For this device and together with Keyight's ADS (Advanced Design System) program, different simulations are carried out to determine the functional characteristics of the device, which justify an improvement in the efficiency of this type of amplifier. The implementation of the envelope tracking technique will be carried out, along with the diagrams used in the simulations of this work, representative tables and graphs can also be identified with which we can draw conclusions at the end of the project.
