Y es que el documental parece haber encontrado, un tiempo propicio para mostrar nuevas y viejas historias, la resignificación de una nueva forma de hacer cine. Forma que se atreve a tratar cualquier tema, sea de orden social, cultural o político, teniendo como eje narrativo la condición humana. El presente trabajo presenta un doble propósito: a. Reunir y analizar algunas teorías del cine, las incipientes teorías del documental, y echar una mirada sobre algunos documentalistas que en la primera mitad el siglo XX, marcaron diversos estilos dentro del documental, que a su vez servirán como marco de referencia para analizar las nuevas tendencias desarrolladas por los documentalistas de finales del siglo XX y principio del siglo XXI. b. Problematizar el concepto de “(post)documental”, manejados por algunos teóricos del cine documental y contraponerlo ante un nuevo término el cine-­documental, en un intento de ampliar la “jurisprudencia” del término documental, teniendo como finalidad la incorporación de las nuevas tendencias del audiovisual.

It is the documentary that appears to have found a proper time to show old and new stories, a resignification of a new form of making cinema. A form that dares to handle any topic related to social, cultural or political order, treatting human condition as its narrative center line.The actual work presents a double objective: a. Collect and analise a few cinema theories and the incipient theories on documentary, taking a look on documentalists which ‐on the first half of the XX century‐ marked diverse styles which will help as points of reference to analize new tendencies developed by documentalists of the end of the XX century and begining of XXI century. b. Question the concept “post‐documentary“ ‐handled by some theorics‐ and contrast it with the new term “documentary‐cinema“, in a attempt to broaden the jurisprudency of the documentary term, aiming the incorporation of new audiovisual tendencies.
