Abstract

In some countries all over the world, and specially in spain, there is a clear tendency in the final management of domestic waste (USW): landfill spilled. The alternative to landfills is the thermal treatment by incineration, which in spite of being in a higher possition in the Waste Management Hierarchy, governments are reluctant to use due to the dangerousness of some polluting agents emited by incinerating plants. Some of these agents can be dioxines and furans which their main characteristic is a high toxicity and their persistence in the enviroment. That's why is required a system being able to get high eficiency in depuration of them, avoiding in this way the dangerous emissions of the incinerating plants and cutting down the social pressure over these kind of plants as well. The aim of this document is to propose a basic design of dioxine and furans dejection from combustion gasses by adsortion, through injection of active carbon in the conduction of these gasses.
