Factores institucionales y transparencia de gobierno corporativo en Latinoamérica

Abstract

Este estudio analiza en qué medida los factores institucionales inciden en el nivel de transparencia en gobierno corporativo de las empresas de mayor cotización bursátil en Latinoamérica. El estudio provee un análisis longitudinal compuesto por 826 observaciones de las empresas que pertenecen a los índices de mayor cotización bursátil de las bolsas de valores en Argentina (MERVAL), Brasil (IBOVESPA), Chile (IPSA) y México (IPyC), durante el periodo de 2004-2010. Los resultados del estudio muestran evidencia teórica y empírica de que las empresas cotizadas bajo estudio se han centrado en los arreglos institucionales con el fin de aumentar la transparencia y mejorar la confianza de los inversores.
