Abstract

Bu çalışma, endüstriyel önem taşıyan ve kaplama, boya, yalıtım ve paketleme sanayinde önemli rol oynayan polimerlerin, uygun çözücülerdeki çözünürlüğünü etkileyen termodinamik faktörlerin araştırılmasına yönelmiştir. Literatürden sağlanan teorik ve deneysel veriler karşılaştırılarak, bu hususta bir genelleştirme yapılıp yapılamayacağı çalışılmış, önerilen muhtelif teorik modellerin ve uygulanan deneysel yöntemlerin eksik veya sakıncalı yönlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Polimer-çözücü etkileşmelerine ilişkin teorik çözelti modelleri olarak Raoult kanunu, Van Laar, Scatchard-Hildebrand, Flory-Huggins, Flory-Krigbaum, hücre, karşılıklı hall6r ve Flory hal-denklemi teorileri incelenmiştir. Deneysel yöntemler arasında osmotik basınç, buhar basıncı azalması, donma noktası düşmesi, kaynama noktası yükselmesi, viskozite ölçümleri, ışık dağılması, şişme, gaz kromatografi ve buhar sorbsiyonu teknikleri ele alınmıştır. Teorik ve deneysel yöntemleri değişik derişim, sıcaklık ve molekül ağırlığı bölgelerinde karşılaştırabilmek üzere polimer olarak poliizo-bütilen ve polidimetilsilokzan, çözücü olarak da n-pentan, benzen ve siklohegzan seçilmiştir.
