Abstract

Çevrimiçi öğrenme ortamlarında motivasyon konusu hakkında bilgi edinmek isteyen herkes Maggie Hartnett tarafından yazılan Çevrimiçi Eğitimde Motivasyon isimli kitabı yararlı bulacaktır. Kitap, çevrimiçi öğrenme ortamlarında öğrenenlerin motivasyonunu farklı bir bakış açısıyla ele almaktadır. Kitapta ayrıca uzaktan öğrenenlerin motivasyonunu birinci elden anlamak için iki durum çalışmasına yer verilmiştir. Bu yönüyle yazar kitapta, çevrimiçi öğrenme sürecinde öğrenenlerin nasıl ve neden motive oldukları ve motivasyonunu engelleyen faktörlerin neler olduğunu derinlemesine incelemiştir. Kitapta, özellikle, öğrenenlerin motivasyonunu artıran ve engelleyen faktörler tanımlanmakta ve bunların her biri ayrıntılı bir şekilde tartışılmaktadır. Ayrıca kitap, açık ve uzaktan öğrenme ortamlarında öğrenen motivasyonunun karmaşıklığına dikkat çekerek, bu ortamlarda çalışan eğitimcilere, öğretim tasarımcılarına ve karar vericilere çeşitli önerilerde bulunmaktadır.

Anyone who wants to learn about motivation in online learning environments will find ideas useful presented in the book Motivation in Online Education written by Maggie Hartnett. The book deals with the motivation of learners in online learning environments from a different perspective. The book also includes two case studies in order to understand the motivation of distance learners at first hand. In this way, the author examines in depth how and why online learners are motivated in the online learning process and the factors that hinder their motivation. In particular, the author describes the factors that increase and hinder the motivation of online learners and each is discussed in detail. In addition, the book draws attention to the complexity of learning motivation in open and distance learning environments and offers various suggestions to online educators, instructional designers and decision makers working in these environments.
