Abstract

Yeni Türkiye devleti siyasi bağımsızlığını elde etmişti ama İktisadi bağımsızlığına da kavuşmalıydı. Bunun içindir ki, Atatürk, yurdun dört bucağından iktisadi alanda etkili olabilecek üreticilerin temsilcilerini (tüccarların,tarımcıların ve işçilerin) 17 Şubat 1923 İzmir'de toplamış ve o ünlü açılış konuşmasını yapmıştı: "Yeni Türk devletinin temelleri süngü ile değil ekonomi ile kurulacaktır. Yeni Türk devleti fetihçi bir devlet değil bir ekonomi devleti olacaktır. Siyasi bağımsızlık gibi ekonomik bağımsızlık da esastır. Biz de bu makalemizde ekonomiye büyük bir önem veren Atatürk'ün, hele o zamana göre, başarı ile uyguladığı iktisat politikasını ele almış ve 1939 yılına kadar süren dönemin başlıca ekonomik konularına yer vermiş bulunuyoruz.
