Abstract

ABSTRACTPower, Death, LawIn this academic study, by examining different forms of power, state and society from past to present and based on the traditions which shape death, beliefs regarding afterworld, places, institutions and historical events; the effect of power on controlling the death and using it, the way death is used against the mechanisms of power and how different forms of domination are established through death by differentiating perceptions of death with modernity will be explained together with various mechanisms of power based on death, such as capitalism, religion, law, technology, and modern medicine, which are themed on life through descriptions of the afterworld and fear of death, where no one can provide concrete evidence, will be examined.Key words: Death, Power, State, Religion, Capitalism, Law, Modern Medicine, Prison.

ÖZETİktidar, Ölüm, HukukBu çalışmada; geçmişten günümüze farklı iktidar, devlet ve toplum biçimleri incelenerek, ölüm etrafında şekillenen gelenekler, ölümden sonrasına ilişkin inanışlar, mekanlar, kurumlar ve tarihsel olaylardan yola çıkılarak iktidarın ölümü kontrol ederek ne şekilde kullandığı ve ölümün iktidar mekanizmalarına karşı ne şekilde kullanıldığı, modernite ile birlikte ölüm ile ilgili algıların değişerek ölüm üzerinden farklı tahakküm biçimlerinin ne şekilde kurulduğu açıklanarak kimsenin somut kanıt sunamadığı öteki dünyaya ilişkin tasvirler ve ölüm korkusu üzerinden yaşamın üzerinde işletilen kapitalizm, din, hukuk, teknoloji, modern tıp gibi ölüm üzerinden kurulan çeşitli iktidar mekanizmaları incelenecektir.
