Abstract

La motivazione delle persone costituisce un interessante oggetto di indagine da parte di numerosi studiosi di direzione e organizzazione aziendale, soprattutto a fronte della crescente consapevolezza dell’importanza strategica che le risorse umane ricoprono all’interno delle organizzazioni. Nell’ambito degli studi sull’impresa, l’attenzione è quindi rivolta al fattore umano, dotato non soltanto di “razionalità economica”, ma anche di “sentimenti ed emozioni” e di bisogni psicologici e sociali, che – se soddisfatti – non soltanto possono incrementare la performance individuale nello svolgimento dei compiti lavorativi, ma sono anche in grado di generare lo sviluppo organizzativo. Obiettivo di questo contributo è quello di rilevare le dimensioni del comportamento organizzativo e illustrare i principali studi in tema di motivazione, al fine di evidenziare sia il percorso evolutivo che caratterizza i vari approcci, sia l’eterogeneità dei fattori che influenzano il livello motivazionale degli individui nelle organizzazioni.
