Abstract

Si ritiene che non vi sia nessuna ragione perché un individuo affetto da cirrosi epatica debba osservare un regime dietetico eccessivamente restrittivo, monotono e poco appetibile. Anche per questa patologia vale l’indicazione di variare, quanto più possibile, l’alimentazione al fine di consentire l’apporto di tutti i nutrienti ed evitare la monotonia, sempre in agguato, soprattutto in una dieta sottoposta a qualche restrizione. Se si escludono i casi di cirrosi in fase catabolica, l’alimentazione non dovrà differire dalla dieta di un qualsiasi individuo sano. Un requisito essenziale della dieta del paziente cirrotico è rappresentato dall’astensione totale da ogni tipo di bevanda alcolica; può essere invece utilizzata qualsiasi bevanda analcolica. La dietoterapia del cirrotico consiste pertanto nella prescrizione di un regime dietetico, il più possibile, individualizzato orientandosi verso una dieta sufficientemente libera, che incentra il problema nutrizionale della cirrosi epatica sull’individuo, con le sue esigenze fisiologiche e psicologiche più che verso una dieta speciale.
