Abstract

L’utilizzo della terapia psicofarmacologica rappresenta sicuramente uno strumento significativo in oncologia. La necessità di valutare e trattare correttamente i disturbi psichiatrici e psicosociali secondari al cancro della mammella deve di fatto prevedere diversi strumenti, integrati tra loro in un piano terapeutico globale. Vengono approfondite nel capitolo le modalità di approccio più corretto al trattamento dei diversi disturbi psicopatologici che possono riscontrarsi nelle persone affette da carcinoma della mammella. Tra questi, l’approccio psicofarmacologico merita particolare attenzione, dato il suo importante ruolo sia nella terapia di disturbi psichiatrici specifici (ansia, insonnia, depressione, disturbi psicorganici) sia nella terapia adjuvante di disturbi secondari al cancro o al trattamento oncologico, quali dolore, nausea e vomito e hot-flashes.
