Abstract

L'articolo informa del congresso mondiale di geotermia tenutosi il 25-30 aprile 2010 a Bali, Indonesia. L'evento si svolge ogni ogni cinque anni e riunisce ricercatori, tecnici e politici di tutto il mondo per la valutazione dello stato dell’arte e la individuazione delle successive linee strategiche del settore. In questa edizione, il congresso ha visto la presenza di 2500 partecipanti da 85 paesi del mondo, 10 sessioni congressuali, 650 interventi tecnico-scientifici e 450 poster. Nella sessione plenaria di avvio dei lavori, il Presidente dell’Associazione Geotermica Internazionale (Prof. Ladislaus Rybach) ha chiaramente evidenziato che, mentre il trend mondiale per la produzione elettrica da geotermia rimane purtroppo costante negli anni, l’impiego del suolo come sorgente per lo scambio termico con pompe di calore dimostra invece una crescita paragonabile a quella del fotovoltaico. E’ questo infatti il settore che può dimostrarsi più strategico, perché facilmente accessibile anche a microscala per l’affidabilità della tecnologia e i suoi costi contenuti, con un duplice beneficio: risparmio energetico (-30%), riduzione delle emissioni clima alteranti diffuse.
