ECOLOGICAL QUALITY OF KARAVASTA LAGOON (ALBANIA)

Abstract

The ecological quality of the Karavasta lagoon (Albania) was assessed using three benthic index proposed within the WFD. The relationship between macrobenthic community structure and composition, and sediment and water parameters was also investigated. The ecological classifications obtained using BITS and M-AMBI were similar, and agreed with the analyses of comunity and environmental parameters
