The work adresses the parasitic motion of high-precision flexural pivots. The problem is approached by studying the large deflections of an elastic frame. A solution based on the Newton-Raphson method is proposed. Via a laser interferometric experimental assessment it is shown that the proposed solution permits to establish clearly the influence of lateral loads.
