Il diffuso fenomeno del reimpiego dei materiali architettonici di età romana nell'edilizia medioevale trova un'eloquente esemplificazione a Villa Speciosa, in provincia di Cagliari, nella chiesa di San Platano. I capitelli in marmo qui identificati vengono studiati in rapporto alle testimonianze insediative del territorio, alla ricerca dell'abitato di provenienza di questi pezzi.
