Abstract

Questa monografia, con testo introduttivo italiano e inglese, è dedicata all’opera di Daniel Libeskind, polacco di nascita ma statunitense d’adozione, architetto dalla formazione eclettica (ha studiato musica e filosofia ancor prima di interessarsi all’architettura) e consacrato sulla scena dello star system internazionale grazie alla realizzazione nel 1998 del Museo Ebraico a Berlino, vero e proprio manifesto del suo pensiero. Introdotto da una prefazione di Antonino Saggio il volume, nella prima parte suddivisa in cinque capitoli corrispondenti alle fasi progressive della formazione di Libeskind, ne ripercorre l’opera tramite un saggio critico e la analizza nel suo peculiare linguaggio. La seconda parte presenta i progetti più rappresentativi realizzati nel periodo 1987-2007, ognuno dei quali è documentato attraverso una scheda informativa corredata di testo e materiale grafico e fotografico in gran parte inedito.
