Preliminary data on the presence of sporophytic polyembryony inDactylorhiza insularis(Sommier) Landw. from Sardinia are reported. The supernumerary embryos develop from the inner cells of the integument. The study conferms the possibility of an hybrid origin of this species (2n= 60).
