A comparison between SEM and Rasch model: the polytomous case

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to apply Rating Scale Model and Structural Equation Model to the same polytomous data in order to highlight the differences and similarities between the two models, developing a simulation study involving different situations. Moreover, we present a real case regarding the analysis of the quality of work.
