Abstract

Le richieste estetiche dei pazienti rivestono un’importanza sempre più determinante nella formulazione del piano di trattamento protesico. L’introduzione sul mercato di nuovi materiali privi di metallo, i protocolli di nuove tecniche più conservative, il miglioramento dei sistemi adesivi smalto-dentinali, permettono oggi riabilitazioni sempre più integrate e mimetizzate anche da un punto di vista biologico. Per raggiungere un risultato estetico soddisfacente, il ripristino dell’integrità dentale non può prescindere dall’integrità e dalla salute dei tessuti gengivali e la riabilitazione o la restaurazione protesica devono essere inserite in un quadro di competenze di parodontologia ortodonzia, gnatologia e conservativa. Inoltre è importante inserire l’intervento protesico in un contesto che analizzi la forma del sorriso e la simmetria facciale.
