Abstract

Il Vocabolario di studi di genere è un'opera interdisciplinare volta a esplorare il linguaggio come veicolo di potere e trasformazione sociale. Il volume non si limita a fornire definizioni, ma invita a un’analisi critica del linguaggio, rivelandone bias, stratificazioni storiche e potenzialità trasformative. Infatti, attraverso una pluralità di approcci il vocabolario offre un quadro della complessità terminologica, analizzando l’evoluzione e l’uso attuale dei termini e delle espressioni. La voce 'machismo' esplora le connotazioni del termine, descrive i comportamenti stereotipati ad esso ascrivibili e ne evidenzia le implicazioni socioculturali, anche in un'ottica di reazione e decostruzione degli stereotipi e pregiudizi sociali che condizionano i processi di costruzione dell'identità di genere.
