Abstract

Il Santuario mariano di Monte Grisa a Trieste venne completato nel 1966 su progetto dell’ingegnere Antonio Guacci (1912-1995). Il contributo contestualizza la figura di Guacci nel panorama architettonico della seconda metà del ’900, evidenziandone l’ecletticità in ragione anche della sua produzione artistica. Sulla base di un rilievo effettuato con tecnologia laser scanner e sui disegni di progetto, viene inoltre analizzato il sistema metrico-proporzionale impiegato per la progettazione del santuario che si presenta particolarmente puntuale nella definizione di piante e prospetti, ma anche dei complementi d’arredo progettati dallo stesso ingegnere. Vengono inoltre proposte delle ricostruzioni, in ambiente digitale, delle varianti al progetto definitivo, ricavate dal ricco repertorio di schizzi prodotti nel processo compositivo. Dall’analisi del santuario carsico e, più in generale, della produzione artistica e tecnica di Guacci, emerge la figura di un ingegnere attento al rapporto tra natura e tecnica, fortemente legato alle tendenze organiche dell’architettura di quegli anni.
