The presentation summarises the recent developments around the European Open Science Could (EOSC) as a 'web of FAIR data' where any dataset relevant for a research work could easily be found in a similar way to how many other things can be found via an adequate query on an search engine. The EOSC is presented as a milestone in the route towards Open Science and as a data infrastructure that complements the European e-infrastructure organisations. The technical and social challenges for delivering the EOSC are explored and the implementation steps described.
