Balanced Scorecard e gestione del cambiamento: il caso MEMC Europe

Abstract

Il capitolo sofferma l’attenzione sulle correlazioni esistenti tra i sistemi di controllo ed i valori propri della cultura aziendale, ovvero sulle ragioni per cui e sui modi nei quali tali sistemi e valori interagiscono ed evolvono sinergicamente nel tempo e nello spazio determinando ed influenzando i comportamenti individuali ed organizzativi in azienda. Nell’intento di integrare i presupposti teorici così delineati con l’indagine empirica, l’analisi presenta un caso di studio longitudinale avente ad oggetto una società di medio-grandi dimensioni operante nel settore della produzione di silicio per il mercato della microelettronica e per le applicazioni di solare fotovoltaico: MEMC SpA. In particolare, dopo aver delineato un breve profilo dell’azienda, e descritto il percorso che ha portato all’introduzione della Balanced Scorecard al suo interno e la struttura ad essa assegnata, l’analisi si sofferma ad esaminare le dinamiche evolutive che hanno interessato tale strumento dal momento della sua prima implementazione ad oggi. L’obiettivo è quello di riuscire a cogliere ed evidenziare come questi processi di cambiamento siano stati influenzati, accompagnati e governati dalla prevalente cultura aziendale e come questa venga a sua volta modellata dal reiterato impiego degli strumenti di pianificazione, programmazione e controllo adottati, fra i quali la Balanced Scorecard.
