Desarrollo a escala humana y de la naturaleza

Abstract

Propone evaluar las consecuencias que ejerce el crecimiento económico de las sociedades capitalistas de mercado sobre las capacidades y el desarrollo integral de las personas, así como su impacto sobre la Naturaleza. Se Considera que, incluso si tuvieran éxito las medidas que se vienen adoptando en las economías del hemisferio norte para salir del estancamiento en el mediano plazo, el futuro no se muestra promisorio. Porque, de acuerdo a las evidencias empíricas, ni las personas ni la biosfera habrán de soportar los impactos perversos de la ciega expansión del producto bruto interno y el consecuente uso exagerado de materia y energía. Como tal, no se vislumbra que el crecimiento económico sea parte de la solución, sino que es cada vez más evidente que es parte sustancial de los problemas que nos aquejan.
