Abstract

La mucopolisacaridosi VI (o síndrome de Maroteaux-Lamy) és una malaltia per dipòsit lisosòmic produïda pel dèficit d'N-acetilgalactosamina-4-sulfatosulfatasa (ASB), enzim implicat en el metabolisme de glicosaminoglicans (GAG), en concret del dermatan sulfat, components dels cartílags i altres teixits. La galsulfasa (Naglazyme®) és una forma recombinant de l'enzim ASB, aprovada per l'Agència Europea del Medicament el gener de 2006 per al tractament a llarg termini de pacients amb diagnòstic confirmat de mucopolisacaridosi VI. Objectius: Avaluar l'eficàcia, seguretat i eficiència de la galsulfasa comparada amb qualsevol alternativa de tractament, inclòs el placebo, en el tractament de pacients amb MPS VI.
