Abstract

during the last decade, the main international organizations (io) have taken on the Global Value chains (GVc) approach as a development theory from which policy recommendations for developing countries can be inferred. the present article aims to discuss the original contributions of GVc theorists while contrasting with the re-interpretation that international organizations have made of said approach: taking these differences into account puts the conclusions and proposals that the latter get to in check.
