Abstract

Se analiza la productividad del texto "Fortune and Men's Eyes" (1967) del canadiense John Herbert puesto en escena en Buenos Aires, bajo el nombre de "Ejecución", con la dirección de Agustín Alezzo. Refiriéndose a un momento bisagra de la emergencia de los discursos cuestionadores a las representaciones tradicionales de la sexualidad —año 1969—, este artículo permite reconstruir una obra en la que el ámbito carcelario deviene escenario del terror anal.En el clima previo a Stonewall se denuncian, de modo simultáneo, la violencia dentro del sistema carcelario tanto como lo violento que puede tornarse el sistema social con quienes encarnan sexualidades no-heteronormativas. A través del clima de violencia experimentado en una prisión, los personajes de la obra de Herbert despliegan las tensiones de las sociedades contemporáneas. En el año 1969 la obra se estrenó en Buenos Aires bajo el título Ejecución, con dirección de Agustín Alezzo. En 1971 Hollywood produjo la versión fílmica dirigida por Harvey Hart. El trabajo intenta ahondar sobre el texto dramático y sus intertextos por medio de un sesgo queer.
