Abstract

En el presente libro se desarrolla un método para un estudio filosófico del griego clásico con vistas a reforzar y complementar el estudio de la filosofía antigua a través de la lengua en la que los textos han sido escritos. Luego de presentar el método, se analizan una serie de ejemplos concretos a fin de ver la teoría en la práctica concreta de análisis filosófico de textos griegos. El libro contiene, además, tres partes dedicadas a las herramientas básicas para el aprendizaje de la lengua: elementos de morfología nominal, elementos de morfología verbal y una antología de textos griegos.Esteban Bieda intenta sentar nuevas bases en torno al estatus de la lengua griega para la labor del estudioso de la filosofía antigua, estatus que tradicionalmente ha sido asociado con cierta rigurosidad estanca que opera puramente como límite para la libertad creativa o hermenéutica del traductor-filósofo. Si, como decía Gadamer, "la tarea de la traducción goza siempre de una cierta libertad", un estudio filosófico del griego clásico como el que aquí se propone permite materializar lo que la historia de la filosofía occidental ha sido desde sus orígenes: un coro de voces alternativas tratando de buscar cimientos firmes en un universo plagado de nubes.
