This text aims to study some aspects about the relationship between collective memory and individual memory through a few of Latin American and European texts of recent decades. First, I identify, as a symptom of our culture, the attention that some essayists, writers and directors give to memory. Second, I examinethe Cuban Revolution through the Padilla case and the Cultural Revolution through Servero Sarduy and I analyze the autobiographical writings as ways to break with these aesthetic and political projects. Finally, I propose some fragmentary reflections on the present.
