In this paper we have tried to make a contribution to the study of the reformers from the investigation of the practices o f a group of young people who, as a form of opposing to the University Reform, founded the Club Universitario de Buenos Aires, in 1918. To understand this event, we analyze herein the characteristics of the Club's foundation by tracing back social patterns and practices employed by young people at that moment, particularly regarding their ways o f association, their goals, and the traditions they created and where they comfortably fit. We seek to understand the Reform Movement from the perspective o f those who felt disconnected from it and/ or opposed to it, and analyze the relevance o f education (university education in this case) in the construction of social hierarchy and prestige at a time of social and cultural changes in the Argentine Republic o f the early twentieth century.
