The article will inquire in the status that the images, the archive, the testimony and its affective dimension acquire in Albertina Carri’s installation Operación fracaso y el sonido recobrado. The letters sent by Albertina’s mother during captivity and her father’s previous writtings are incorporated in the installation as a key element in the problematization and critique of the ways of representing Argentinean’s dictatorship and of the ways in which the following generation resignifies its legacy.

El artículo indaga el estatuto que adquieren las imágenes, el archivo audiovisual y su dimensión afectiva en Operación fracaso y el sonido recobrado, de Albertina Carri. Tanto las cartas que su madre le enviaba estando en cautiverio, como la obra de su padre, son incorporadas a esta instalación como parte de la problematización de la representación del pasado reciente argentino y los modos en que la generación posterior a la de los setenta resignifica críticamente el legado.
