Abstract

From the intersections between youth, inequality and urban space, the author describes the daily displacements of the young inhabitants of popular sectors of the periphery of La Plata, the multiplicity of urban barriers they encounter in these movements and their effects on the possibilities of accessing the city, its assets and its opportunities. In this sense, the author proposes the existence of an urban order that regulates the uses of the city, establishes a dominant structure of interaction of the popular sectors with the urban space and sanctions the presence of certain actors and the accomplishment of certain practices in the central public space of the city.
