Abstract

Based on the centrality that takes the space to think about the social question, the purpose of the article is to reflect on the scaling of urban phenomena. The article is focused in the problem of formality and informality in the production of habitat and the related controversies in urban research and from which it has been delimited the agenda of urban intervention. In this context, it is proposed that a multi-scale approach to urban processes allows progress towards a comprehensive concept of a complex urban phenomenon and, from there, rethink possible policy guidelines to more democratic and accessible cities.
