El puma en La Pampa

Abstract

El puma (Puma concolor) es unade las especies de felino nativocon mayor área de distribuciónen América. Este gran felinovive en más lugares que cualquierotro mamífero silvestre del continente,encontrándoselo desde elextremo sur de la Patagonia hastael norte de Canadá. En su ampliadistribución se han podido identificar30 subespecies en base a lamorfología. Sin embargo, un análisismolecular y filogenético reconoceseis grupos filogeográficos osubespecies de puma, hallándosepor lo menos tres en Argentina, yuna de ellas en la provincia de LaPampa, el Puma concolor cabrerae.
