Abstract

This paper aims to show how the journal El Censor promoted the modernization of theater culture, promoted and legitimized the formation of Society and sharply criticized its lack of political and literary judgment. In this sense, a cautious reading of which had the effect that the Fray Camilo Henríquez in the journal and therefore shed light on his life in Buenos Aires. Furthermore, the tensions that emerge in daily between Henríquez and members of the Society show the contradictions of directorial project, period designated to the same ideological tendency that "happy experience" occurred during 1820-1827.
