Transformaciones urbanas en enclaves comerciales emergentes

Abstract

The recent transformation processes that have been generated in lathe of large shopping centres of Bogotá and Buenos Aires metropolis shed light on a series of new functional synergies and urban hybrids. On the assumption that these changes are the result of the interaction between a "predesigned" commercial formula and an urban space with specific social and physical characters, the various processes and spatial configurations that take place in some representative commercial enclaves are discussed. For this purpose, we experience with new - or renovated - graphics devices. From them it is comparatively reflected on the "porosity" of urban fabric, typological "inward" mall transformations and the processes and functional hybrids that operate at their edges.
