One speaks about return of the suppressed –the expelled thing, the forced, the missing thing– or about the silenced: the study of the popular Latin-American cultures was an object of this operation of displacement, contemporary to the neoliberal decade that the pauperización consolidated, the fragmentation and the social exclusion in our continent. Luck of corollary of this movement was the expulsion of the popular cultures of the agendas of investigation, diluted in categories that they were claiming more suitable and suitable for the analysis in times of transformation. Twenty years later, we are present at a process of reopening of these agendas and of reappearance of categories and of displaced subjects: the new political success of the national-popular statements they speak more of continuities and of returns, before that of dissolutions and of closing.
