In this paper we present the funerary contexts recorded on the site Soria 2 (Yocavil Valley, Catamarca) from the Early or Formative period. The site was defined as a domestic domain where, after its use as living space, infant burials were placed; among them the primary urn burial in a pit, the primary urn burial within a stone-lined compartment and the secondary burial associated with a stone compartment. The grave construction features, the ceramic containers, the associated burial accompaniments and the first results obtained from the bioarchaeological study of the human remains are described here. Radiocarbon dates from human bone samples of the buried individuals are also reported. Through a local contextualization we discuss the relationship between the mortuary practices and memory
