Abstract

The aim is to incorporate an element of increasing importance, as the geographical space, to the analysis of the demand for employment in Argentina between the years 2001 and 2010. The increase in the breakdown leads to a level of higher heterogeneity of the employment rate and in the demand for jobs between different geographic areas. It seeks to check if the rates of employment and the increases in the demands of jobs, are located spatially in geographic areas of low population density, in which the impact of internal migration movements, in relative terms, is relevant. Notable results arise, some side effects, such as the high performance of the labor market in certain geographical areas in the year 2001, contrary to the situation of a historic record level of unemployment to total level country. The greater knowledge of the demand for labor that brings the analysis of 1,004 localities and census briquettes compels us to search for a point of balance that reflects a high degree of realism.
